Welcome to the world of visual arts
at Rancho!
Here at Rancho San Joaquin Middle School students
experience visual arts as a 12 week seventh grade exploratory program and
a year long eighth grade elective class.
The curriculum for the seventh grade includes exploration
in the elements of line, shape, space, color and texture using a variety
of projects and media. The class is designed to integrate with the seventh
grade Humanities, Math and Science.
The eighth grade course offers further experiences
in the visual elements and an emphasis on student critique and analysis
of process.
Students in both classes are required to complete
sketchbook
assignments at home every two weeks.
Artwork is on display throughout the year at the
school and in county exhibits. We are
currently involved in the Color It
Orange and
Imagination
Celebration exhibitions.
