  Supplies you will need as soon as possible:

• A bound journal or composition book (about $1.25 at Office Depot)
• Black or blue pens (no gel or wild colors)
• Lined, college ruled paper
• 3 ring binder, 1-2”, you can just have one for Humanities and divide it between Language Arts and Social Science.
• Colored pencils (no markers please)
• 3 report folders one for social science study guide, one for grammar and one for literature guides (Suggestion: buy a package of 10 at Office Depot with clear fronts or not and it will be enough for the year and is much cheaper then buying separately.)

First novel of the year, Shadow Spinner by Susan Fletcher

• It is available at Whale of A Tale (bookstore across from UCI) or Barnes and Noble or you can purchase all your books for the year through Amazon.com (recommend you wait to purchase all books in case of a schedule change as some teachers have different reading lists.)
• I do have many copies of the book if you wish to check out the book.  It must be returned in good condition or you will have to purchase another.

Other supplies very useful to have with you each day if possible:

• Rulers
• Scissors
• Colored pencils
• Erasers
• White-out

Ø      Remember: you should bring your own supplies daily, including your required textbooks for all classes. 

Ø      You will be checked out a social science book, a literature book and a grammar book which should be left at home, in a safe place for you to use for homework. 

Ø      Borrowing from the teacher or fellow students can lose you points on your grade which includes points for being prepared and trying hard.
