Date Class Objectives & Homework

Thank you to Mrs. Bash, Mrs. Alon, & Mrs. Rubissa!!

On Tuesday, March 18th, they presented information about Purim, a Jewish holiday.  Parents & students are always encouraged to teach their classroom about their culture and the holidays they celebrate!  We appreciated the time they spent with us.  We learned about the story of Purim and made a costume.  We had fun, thank you!

Monday 3/17 OBJECTIVE:
Warm up by writing pairs of words that rhyme; listen to the Legend of St. Patrick;
listen to and view Riverdance (Irish music & dancing) while completing St. Patrick's Day story activities; write a Limerick poem; listen to student presentations re: Purim (Jewish holiday); time for SSR?

HOMEWORK:
1. Blue- Activity book pg. 102-105
2. Bring WBW dictionary, study Occupations 2 pgs. 114-115
3. Wizard of Oz activities are due Wednesday (packet & puzzle)
4. Green/Red- complete Limerick and prepare to present
5. Bring gift for Purim activity

Purim & participate in activities; divide into differentiated Visions groups & share Limerick poems; complete St. Patrick's Day activities.

Warm up by matching occupations (no dictionaries); take visions inventory; complete "St Patrick's Day" story questions; learn/practice using new WBW vocabulary words in workbook.; read silently and log your reading.

HOMEWORK:
1. Blue- "My 1st Day of School" questions & "Open Minds"

4. Reading Counts points due tomorrow by 4 pm!

Thursday 3/20 OBJECTIVE:
Listen to last counseling presentation; warm up- practice letter writing skills; write a short rough draft letter; peer-edit letter then re-write (2nd draft); make study cards for Occupations 2, & match a job skill with them (on the back) learn/practice using new WBW vocabulary; complete Visions inventory.
