Date Class Objectives & Homework
11/05 OBJECTIVE:
Write sentences that describe leisure recreational activities; read silently during SSR and summarize what you read; divide into differentiated groups to read group story and complete grammar practice & activities.
HOMEWORK:
ALL Groups- Write and study "Leisure Activities Dictation Sentences" (QUIZ on Thursday).  This activity helps students with spelling, sentence structure, and punctuation.
BLUE
- Read, sound out, & study Visions text pgs. 10-15 (We will check sounds & pronunciation tomorrow.  Remember it seems easy now, but this is useful because we are reviewing work before we begin the difficult portion of this text!)
GREEN- Write a 1 paragraph summary (at least 7 sentences) & draw a visualization about your "Sadako" story.
RED- Write a 1 paragraph (at least 7 sentences) Story Review about "Antarctic Adventure."  What is your opinion about the story?  Do you recommend it, why or why not?
ALL Groups
- Read for 30 minutes (book of your choice).
11/06 OBJECTIVE:                                         BUSY DAY TODAY!
Period 4- Access American History: preview American Land Regions vocabulary; describe physical and human characteristics of the U.S.; recognize the location & characteristics of places and regions of the U.S. (to be continued tomorrow).  Periods 5 & 6-You will listen to and read a story in group stations in the library; complete a reading guide; assess reading comprehension with a Reading Counts quiz, and borrow library books.
HOMEWORK:
ALL Groups-
1. Bring a book for SSR (due Wednesday)
2. Listening Center Worksheet (Is Your Mama a Llama?, Caps for Sale, Bringing the Rain to Kapiti Plain) (due Wednesday)
3. If you received 59 points or less on your Everyday Activities WBW Quiz,
    correct it & re-write the sentences on a separate sheet of paper to raise your grade. (due Thursday)
4. "Leisure Activities Interview" worksheet due Thursday.  Write all answers in quotes. (due Thursday)

List leisure activities; read silently and log your reading; describe physical and human characteristics of the U.S.; recognize the location & characteristics of places and regions of the U.S. (continued from yesterday); discuss Visions story summary, revise grammar & story activities.
